Kier Construction needed a specialist contractor to carry out concrete works and install new waterproofing deck coating to the new Multi Storey Car Park which they were building in Cambridge. After a technical tender process and presentations, the package was awarded to Floor & Wall Ltd.

Scope of works

  • Supply and installation of steel reinforcement to the exposed top deck in preparation of the structural concrete.
  • Supply and Installation of pumped reinforced concrete and formed to falls in areas, finished to guidelines and recommendations ready for final preparation.
  • Preparation of the final concrete base by vacuum enclosed blast equipment.
  • Supply and installation of Flowcrete Deckshield car park waterproofing and wearing system.
  • Line marking and demarcation to all levels of the Multi Storey Car Park.

  • Pumped structural concrete and reinforcement mesh.
  • Deck coatings - flowcrete deckshield rapide ED1 system.
  • Line markings & demarcation - deckshield QD line marker.
A fantastic project to be involved with from start to finish, early engagement was key with the client and engineers to allow us to work with our product manufacturer Flowcrete to establish the best product to suit this MSCP. Not only did we install the waterproofing system but the key factor in this project was our knowledge and understanding of the concrete installation, this allowed Kier Construction to take control of every aspect and in turn make sure the waterproofing system was being installed on a sound surface.
