Project Overview:
Floor + Wall Ltd were selected as the contractor of choice after a technical procurement process to execute the supply and install of a multiple element project: supply and install a multiple package of works which included; anti static flooring and hygienic wall coatings to a new building built at the facility .Our early engagement with the client’s team and specification from the material manufacturer Flowcrete ensured all stake holders were informed of the project. Our experience installing these type of critical anti-static systems was one of the major factors on winning this project.
Electro-static discharge (ESD) can pose a threat to sensitive electronic equipment, and in environments that handle volatile gases, powders, liquids or other substances it can even be a potentially dangerous ignition source. To minimise these concerns, a controlled electrostatic protected area (EPA) can be created by installing an epoxy coating that safely dissipates electrostatic charge to ground faster than it accumulates.
The system from Flowcrete we installed fulfils the three flooring criteria outlined in ANSI/ESD S20.20. Our teams also installed Peran WW on the walls of this new facility, this product is solvent free and exhibits low odour during application. This product is typically used for painting floors, walls and ceilings indoors where surfaces are exposed to chemical and mechanical stress, and where there are stringent hygienic requirements, which in this case ticked all the boxes.
